Nick Shedd joined Mainsail Wealth Advisors in 2014. Before starting his career in finance, he studied Business Management and Economics at Guilford College where he also played collegiate golf and was an Academic All-American. In 2014 Nick spent 4 months interning with Mainsail where he assisted the team in financial planning and portfolio management research. After graduating from Guilford, Nick officially joined the Mainsail team as a Financial Advisor in June of 2015.
Nick works with individuals and families that are nearing retirement or currently retired. He is dedicated to providing clients with a comprehensive financial plan to help align their investments with their financial goals.
In 2021, Nick completed the rigorous coursework required to attain the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation. The CFA® Program is a three-part exam that tests the fundamentals of investment tools, valuing assets, portfolio management, and wealth planning. The Chartered Financial Analyst designation, or CFA charter, is widely considered the investment profession’s most rigorous credentialing program. Less than one in five candidates who begin the comprehensive program successfully becomes a CFA Charterholder.
As a Chartered Financial Analyst, Nick serves as a full-time member of the Mainsail Investment Committee (MIC) and leads research and analysis.
Nick enjoys playing golf and has a passion for woodworking and carpentry. He and his wife, Caroline, live in Richmond with their son Hayden.
